MEDICACIÓN
Dos tendencias:
Obturación completa del espacio haría menos dañinos los
microorganismos remanentes, o podrían eliminarse por la
1 actividad antimicrobiana del agente sellador o podrían ser
privados de espacio y nutrición para multiplicarse
(Fuss, 2000; Kaplan, 1999; Moorer, 1992,; Siqueira, 2000).

REAGUDIZACIONES O FLARE UP
En relación al dolor postoperatorio no existen diferencias entre el tratamiento en
una sesión o múltiples sesiones. Sin embargo, existen diferencias entre el dolor
postoperatorio en pacientes con sintomatología previa, quienes presentan una
incidencia superior a los pacientes que no poseían sintomatología previa,
independiente de si el tratamiento se realiza en una o múltiples sesiones. Hay
mayor dolor post operatorio cuando la pulpa está necrótica independiente de la
modalidad de tratamiento. En dientes con lesión periapical, la incidencia de dolor
postoperatorio es mayor en dientes tratados en una sesión.
CONCLUSIONES
En el caso de las reagudizaciones o flareups, la incidencia es superior en
dientes tratados en una sesión, cuando existe dolor postoperatorio y no
hay vitalidad pulpar.
Los retratamientos son más exitosos en múltiples sesiones que en una
sesión, ya que la medicación intraconducto entre sesiones disminuiría
considerablemente el dolor y reagudizaciones postoperatorias.
