AUFBAU PRINCIPLE

Prepared by: Khairool Anwar Bin Alias Civil Engineering Dept.

AUFBAU PRINCIPLE
DEFINITION :
It is the principal that has all of the electrons in the lowest possible energy levels. Lowest energy to highest energy: 1S, 2S, 2P, 3S, 3P, 4S, 3D, 4P...

AUFBAU PRINCIPLE is used to determine the electron configuration of an atom, molecule or ion.

Electrons configuration
DEFINITION :
ELECTRON CONFIGURATION is the arrangement of electrons of an atom, a molecule, or other physical structure.

VALENCE Electrons
DEFINITION :

VALENCE ELECTRONS are the outermost electrons of an atom, which are important in determining how the atom reacts chemically with other atoms.
