Lesson Plan Day One

Daily Topic: The Louisiana PurchaseLanguage Arts Objectives: Students will be able to construct a news article in Publisher describing his or her opinion of the benefits of the Louisiana Purchase. Materials Needed: Notebook Pen/Pencil Publisher Computer Access with Internet Procedures: 1. Students will listen and watch as the teacher demonstrates how to use Publisher. 2. The students will begin to brainstorm ideas on what they would like their opinion article to be about. 3. After brainstorming, the students will begin to construct their opinion news article in Publisher. 4. After completion, each student will submit his or her article for grading. Technology Activity The technology activity for the students will be creating a news article on Publisher. Accommodation for students with: Special Needsstudents will receive additional time and extra assistance. Non-Nativebilingual assistance will be available Giftedstudents will be required to submit their opinion articles to a Language Arts writing competition.
