Welcome to my Language Arts class. In this class we are doing a reading program called LANGUAGE!. This is a wonderful program that will help your child in all aspects of reading. It covers spelling, reading fluency, and report writing. There is an online component to this program that allows the opportunity for continued learning to be done at home. I am always available either at the school or through email if you may have any questions or concerns. America's Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for students in grades 3rd-12th. Students read books and come together to demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of the books they have read. The contest will take place April 30, 2014 at Washington High School in Washington, NC. We would love for you to come out and support the kids. They are so excited and are more than ready to bring home the gold.

Battle of the Books

I hope that you will feel welcome to come and sit in class in order to get an up close and personal view of what your child is doing on a daily basis. I will also send information home weekly that shows their progress within the class. My goal is for you to take an active role in the development of your child's reading skills. Come along and join us on this wonderful journey.
