Smith 1 Michelle Smith Mrs. Petty English 102 30 April 2014 In Class Notes/ Presentation Outline I.

How do I want to do my presentation? a. PowerPoint b. Answer all the question on Canvas c. Add in extra information about my topic d. Make a conclusion e. Make it look professional f. Possibly dress nice g. Appropriate theme for the PowerPoint, possibly something that looks really elegant h. I will have my hair up to keep it out of my face i. SPEAK CLEARLY, DO NOT STOP TO RESTART A SENTENCE, CARRY ON WITH WHAT I WAS INTENDING TO SAY II. What will I talk about? a. I started with doing democide in America. b. I switched to the democide in Africa. c. The protestors killed in Libya d. The protestors killed in Sudan

Smith 2 e. The people killed in Rwanda by the church f. The western influences that are needed to aid other countries III. American Democide: a. I was interested in the people killed by the American government, so I wanted to talk to others about it. b. It was very difficult trying to find articles about this particular topic. c. I began losing interest when I could not dig up enough information d. Whatever I did find was too vague e. Would this topic be important enough for me to continue searching even if I cannot find anything about it? IV. African Democide: a. I could find more on this topic b. There was a larger amount of people killed in almost every part of Africa c. It fit well with my topic because there was a lot of political conflict due to unjust politics d. There are a few leaders from Africa who have tried to silence protestors V. Libya a. Protestors in Libya were killed because they were trying to defend those who were killed a few days prior b. Instead of listening to the non-violent protestors, the government shot and killed many c. In order to keep the word of this getting out, the government killed or arrested anyone who tried to get into contact with outside sources

Smith 3 VI. Sudan a. There were some rebels trying to go against the government b. The government fought back too forcefully c. Like Libya, Sudan tried to silence the people who tried to look for aid from foreign countries d. I liked how this tied in with the Libyan mass murders e. It helped make my paragraphs longer f. It added information that supported my argument well g. I figured that adding in how protestors were killed, it would show how corrupt the government is VII. Rwanda a. In this paragraph, I talked about the churches role in the mass murders of innocent Rwandans b. I thought it would be interesting to add in how the church killed people c. Religion is interesting, so I think people would enjoy seeing how the churches perform their business in Rwanda d. The church and the government often try to work together- or at least the church with the government- so they can stay in power. e. This part will be shorter than the rest because it was a small add in VIII. Western Support a. Actors and actresses are often looked up to in most parts of the world. b. American actors are more likely to spread the word about the unjust events happening in Africa than the Africans themselves.

Smith 4 c. It is important to round up as much support as possible, and the actors will be able to accomplish this. d. There has slowly been an increasing amount of supporters from western countries. e. This includes both America and western European countries IX. Conclusion: a. Explain what I feel accomplished about 1. I could finish the whole ten pages 2. I did not add too much fluff 3. I was able to find better information 4. I gained new knowledge of different parts of the world b. What I feel less confident about 1. I hated doing all of the research 2. In the beginning, I did not find what I wanted 3. I hope that what I did have to do on my own will be good enough for a high grade 4. Having to add two extra pages c. Works Cited 1. I want to add this in for whenever I say something that another article talked about, so trying to cover myself if I use someone elses words.
