University Housing Options

If you dont live in the Washington D.C. area, there are several cost effective housing options available to you, many of which are located only a metro stop away from the NGLCC. Even though the internship is unpaid, the NGLCC recognizes the difficulty of living and commuting to Washington and provides several contacts for potential candidates to explore. 1. The George Washington University (available Summer ONLY) This option is specifically designed for college-aged students, graduate and professional student and adults who are participating in a summer internship. Residence halls are organized into sections based on living preference (for example, traditional style dorm as opposed to a studio style apartment). American University (available Summer ONLY) Housing available for any student completing an academic internship, educational program, or scholarly research. A variety of residence halls are available, however most styles follow a traditional dorm set-up, with single, double, or triple capacities. Georgetown University (available Summer ONLY) The available housing is designed for summer students as well as student interns. Catholic University (available Summer ONLY) Housing at Catholic University is available in both Traditional and Apartment style options for students completing internships. George Mason University (available Summer ONLY) Accommodations are available in an apartment-style resident hall that houses 4-6 people. Non-University Affiliated Housing Options

1. Washington Intern Student Housing The website provides a variety of housing options, mostly located near Capitol Hill, with 32 intern only properties available. The Washington Intern Housing Network This housing options offers a variety of conveniently located options in Washington DC. Cheap DC Intern Housing This program mostly includes a variety of options all located in Southeast DC and offers short-term housing options for student and interns. Thompson-Markward Hall The Thompson-Markward Hall is a housing option exclusively for women located at 235 Second St. NE in Washington DC.
