TEACHER EVALUATION SYSTEM

Teacher Practice Your 1st Score = Observations

State approved methods to gather evidence (Danielson). Non-tenured have 3 observations per year. In years 1&2 they will have 2 long and 1 short observation. In years 3&4 they will have 1 long and 2 short observations. At least 1 unannounced per year. Tenured have 3 short observations per year. 1 of those observations must have a pre-conference. Observations dont have to be announced. *All observations will have a post-conference.

Student Achievement Your 2nd Score = SGOs

1. Choose a test that is aligned to standards and determine students starting points in Sept. You need 2 SGOs if you dont have an SGP.

2. Set ambitious yet achievable student learning goals by Oct. 15 then get supervisor approval.
3. Track progress, refine instruction accordingly, make adjustments to SGOs with supervisor approval by Feb. 15. 4. Review results and SGO scores. Discuss with supervisor by last day.

Student Achievement rd Your 3 score = SGPs

ONLY for LAL & Math teachers in grades 4-8. Student Growth Percentiles (SGPs) Your score will be determined on students growth from one year to the next on the NJ ASK to that of all other students in the state who had similar historical results. Student must be in your class for 70% of the year.

Tenure Ratings

The superintendent may file a charge of inefficiency or may defer the filing until the next year; in the following year (i.e., the 3rd consecutive year), the superintendent shall file a charge of inefficiency if the annual rating is ineffective or partially effective.
