Icarus and Daedalus

I was inspired by the following stanzas from William Carlos Williams poem titled
Landscape with the fall of Icarus .




In my collage Ive created a lot of objects. I created Icarus drowning and Ive
created Daedalus. I also included a farmer (well, the farmers head ). I created two
boats on the middleground and a foreground, I also did included some on the
background. I decided to emphasize my sun in orange color, and so because of this my
sky is also orange. Then I did some clouds in different colors and different forms. Then I
did kind of the shadows of the sun on the water. The way I created Icarus and Daedalus
is very different from the way it was in the poem , I created Daedalus seeng his son
falling down. I also wanted to show that people saw this epic moment how another
human flying .

I spend a lot of time on creating my collage. First thing I did was paste biggest
part of the collage on the other bigger paper. Then I started making a sun. The way I did
is just by cutting it. Then I did a green hill to create farmers head. Creating farmers
face was fun , because I firstly drew the form of the head and then all the objects on the
face ,and I just cut it out and glued it to the face. The hardest thing for Daedalus
wings,because I decided to glue pieces on the top of each.

Im proud of my work in total because this work represent me as an artist and it
shows my point of view. Ive learned a lot because before I didnt knew stuff about
foreground background and middleground. Then Ive learned that we can create
different texture of different objects and learned about manipulating paper.
