RE: EIT, 98794BR, April 23, 2014
Dear John Smith,
As a recent graduate of the University of Idaho with a bachelors degree in civil engineering, I
am very anxious to begin working as a civil engineer. I have a lot of construction experience
which I think will be beneficial to me as an EIT and will allow me to learn faster. Some of my key
strengths include:
Training in AutoCad.
Communication with coworkers and supervisors.
The ability to stick with a project.
The desire to learn.
My resume provides further details about my skills and background. Any references can be
made available upon request.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Terrence Stevenson

Experience
Laborer 06/2011 to Current

This company specializes in retrofitting basements underneath existing houses and in moving
houses. I have gained invaluable experience and knowledge about residential construction from
Doug Wasankari.
Laborer 04/2010 to 06/2011
JR Masonry Pasco, WA
This company does commercial masonry, I worked here before making the decision to come
back to school. I started my masonry apprenticeship while working for this company.
Laborer 02/2010 to 04/2010
M&L Masonry Idaho Falls, ID
This company does commercial masonry. The owner was able to impress Walmart, who then let
M& L build all their new buildings in the Northwest. Dan Mickelson, the owner, hired me on
while I looked for another job that did not require as much traveling. Although I was only there
for a few months I was able to gain valuable job-site experience.
Laborer 11/2009 to 02/2010
Self-employed Caldwell, ID
After Mickelson and Sons Masonry went bankrupt a co-worker and I spent several months
building two finished shops for two different family members. This allowed us to remain
working as construction was very slow in the area.
Laborer 01/2008 to 11/2009
Pete Mickelson and Sons Masonry Lewisville, ID
I worked for this company again until they went bankrupt in the fall of 2009. During this time I
worked on the new courthouse in Driggs, ID. I learned about installing pre-cast panels on this
job.
Laborer 03/2007 to 01/2008

This company is one of the top cabinet shops in the area. I was being trained to be the installation
manager.
Laborer 09/2006 to 03/2007
Pete Mickelson and Sons Masonry Lewisville, ID
This company did commercial masonry. During the time I worked for this company I was able to
