Tyler Barton - Nathans Preface Revised

From as young as I can remember I saw my father as a man I wanted to be like. I strived to follow his
example and to stand up for what I believe. Being in the military taught me that most Important above
all was respect. The only way to earn respect is to do as you are told. This engraved mentality of
obedience allowed me to become a well-respected man in society just as my father. Once I began raising
a family I soon realized the corruptness of our society. People were beginning to let secular motives
destroy their moral beliefs. Never before have I had someone let alone my very own wife talk back to
me in opposition, but I will not allow the sins of myself and my family to hold me back from
accomplishing what god has sent me to do. In the war I was favored upon by God and allowed to survive
against all odds. After the war I wasnt going to sit around and what was left of this worlds faith fade.
The world has begun to accept things that we know cant be gods will and openly flaunt in these selfish
and wrong actions. After seeing these problems appear in public and tear apart close friends and
familys I decided something needed to be done. After a few weeks of prayer and planning I decided
that me and my family could have the most positive influence in a country such as the Congo. Moving
my family and me to the Congo was made in faith in hope for growth of gods ministry. This change
placed a heavy burden on my family but I believe when god gives you a second chance at life its a sign
you didn't do good enough the rst time. My new goal includes not only bringing the Congo to spiritual
sovereignty but my family to learn a new sense of respect for the work of god and those who do his will.
I cannot see how the people of the Congo couldnt be accepting of our faith, the lord has prepared a
fertile field for me to plow and plant. Though my wife and daughters fail to see his impact on the tribes I
remain fully faithful to his will and pray that they too can find the faith to do the same. His gift of life has
been a sign on to me to do his will and I intend to accomplish this goal no matter what the cost. God has
given me this life and I will die doing his work. Anyone who is against me is against God.
