Day1:
Studentswillcomeinandtakeaseatattheirtables.OnceeveryonerecievestheirrubricthePowerPointpresentation
willstart.ThePowerPointwillstartwithaquotebyVincentVanGoghtobeginaverbaldiscussionbetweenthestudents
onwhyartistmightwanttoillustratehisorherdreams/nightmares.Studentswillbeintroducedtosurrealismandthe
characteristicsofthismovement.Thestudentswillbeintroducedtotheprojectandwillseeanexampleoftheproject.
Studentswillbegindrawingtheirdreamsandnightmares.Studentswillbeaskedtocleanupandputstuffawayatthe5
minutemark.
Day2:
Studentswillcomeinandthetableleaderswillgettheirtablefolders.Brieflytherewillbeareviewofwhatwedidlast
classandtheprojectweareworkingon.Theclasswillcontinuetodrawandfocusonaddingmoredetailandhowto
reallyrepresentemotionsorthisuniqueidea.Studentsareaskedtothinkoutsidetheboxandbeascreativeas
possible.Oncetheyaredonewithallthedrawingtheywilltraceoverpencillineswithathinsharpieorablackcolored
pencil.At5minutemarkstudentswillcleanupandputmaterialsaway
Day3:
Studentswillcomeinandtableleaderswillgettheirfolder.StudentswillbeprestenedaPowerPointwithexamplesof
evenandsmoothcoloredpenciltechiniques.Studentswillhave5minutestofinishanylastminutedrawingswithpencil
butshouldbemovingontothecoloredpencils.Studentsshouldfocusonhowcolorsmakeviewersfeelcertainemotions
towardsartworks.Studentsshouldtakethewholeclasstocolortheirwork.At5minutemarkstudentswillcleanupand
putawaymaterialsused.
Day4:
Studentswillcomeinandthetableleaderswillgettheirtablesfoldersandeachstudentwilltaketheirworkout.
Studentswillreviewtherubricandbeintroducedtotheobjectivesoftheday.Studentswillbeaskedtouseasharpie
andtraceoverlinesiftheydidnotgetachancetodosoalready.Oncestudentsarefullyfinishedtheywillwriteabout
theirdrawingfocusingonthesubjectmatter,whattheywouldchange,andhowtheyusedtheelementsofartintheir
work.Studentswillthenhandintheirworkandcleanuptheirworkspace.Iftheyhaveextratimetheywillfreedrawor
read.At5minutemarktableleaderwillcleanuptablesandputawayfolders.
