Charlestown, Mass- A group of teens survived what would have been a deadly car accident. The
2008 Dodge Caliber drove down route 99 towards Boston in the snow; the driver lost control and
flew towards a concrete barrier. Luckily the car was stopped by a large mound of snow. The front
of the car just touched the concrete wall as the car sat on top of the pile of the snow, the wheels
rapidly spinning.
The driver David Peterson said, the group of young people was on their way to a Faneuil hall in
Boston to celebrate Lily Josephs, one of the rear passengers, 21st birthday.
The four passengers and drivers jumped out of the car to safety. Ramon Ernst, one the rear
passengers helped the birthday girl and Janet Spencer out of the vehicle. The passenger in the
front seat, Wils Irvin trembled at the sight of the car. Irvin said, I have always hated snow, I
hate the cold and the mess it leaves behind but today it saved my life. Wow tonight was crazy.
Thank God we survived.
Police officers did report to the scene. A tow truck pulled the car out of the pile of snow.
The officer onsite said, This could have been a deadly accident. Thankfully we do not have to
call any parents tonight with terrible news.
The paramedics on the scene briefly checked all four teens. No injuries were reported. Luckily
David Peterson was able to drive away from the scene.
