Chapter 1
Digital dialog 1.1 p.4
The future impact of technology on the learning behaviors and thinking patterns of
students will be mostly negative. I believe it will be mostly negative because students
will rely so much on internet answers that they will not have their own knowledge to look
back on. Being so dependent on technology it makes it all the more hard for students to
have their own thinking patterns. It also makes students have very little motivational
skills.

The technologies teachers need to use in order to successful teach todays students would
be different things than what we have used in the past. Todays generation is totally
different. Back in the days it was more one on one or face to face learning with your
teacher. Kids are using technology based things from young ages. Things teachers need
would be

Digital Dialog 1.2 p.12
Yes I do regard my cell phone as a computer. Why I regard my cell phone as my
computer is because it basically can do everything a computer can do. I find myself
referring to everything on my phone. Whether it be the internet for answers, the notepad
for writing, the calculator for math I am always using my phone the same way I would a
computer.

What I find easy and efficient to do professionally using my mobile phone would be
nearly everything! I search the internet constantly for any type of thing I need answers,
questions etc. Checking my email quickly whenever I need to is also easy for me rather
than logging into a computer and having to go through the process of waiting. I also have
twitter so I read and post tweets about educational topics.

I do see a desktop computer, laptop computer, and mobile phone as essential technologies
for a teacher. I would prefer a combination of some of these with other technologies this
way there is always some new way for a teacher to interact with things. I would not want
to be using the same thing over and over every day. It is a positive to switch it up.

Chapter 2
Digital Dialog p.23
How todays media-immersed students differ from me and from students in the past is
instead of students having their own thought process they reflect on internet. The amount
of technology used affects the way their brain works. Making it hard to have any type of
thought process without the help of social media, internet connection, video games etc.

How technology engages students and motivates them to learn is technology can
improve motivation and engage students when using different multimedia
Programs that are designed to develop skills and knowledge. Using visual
Technologies can bring subjects to life and open up the students imagination and keep
their learning going

Not every lesson plan benefits from the use of technology. How teachers may balance
technology-based and non-technology based lessons is mixing in their own ideas with
ideas they use from the computer. Creating group learning situations. Also making
different instructions to offer students learning experiences without technology.

Chapter 3
Digital Dialog 3.1 p.58
The types of information I prefer to learn visually and interactively would be math. I like
to see examples and work with partners to get my brain to comprehend certain formulas.
He types of information I prefer to learn by reading a book would be psychology.

Recent examples of new information that I have learned using online interactive websites
of other technologies would be examples of teachers lesson plans. Since being in this
class I have surfed the web quite much and have learned different techniques on how to
make different plans.

How I plan to support different learning preferences of students when I enter the classroom as a
teacher is giving them different ways I was never taught. I want to give them a variety of
different ways to engage with one another. I want to keep them interested so that they will never
be uninterested in what Im teaching them.\

In my view teachers digital citizenship responsibilities in schools and other educational
settings is to make sure their children are safe. To be well aware of what the students are
using on the internet and what sites they are on. They need to keep an eye out for any
inappropriate behavior being used and make sure their students are not abusing their
rights. Teachers need to make sure students are not doing anything bad towards other
students.

I think at the age the student begins to use any type of technology digital citizenship
should be reinforced. I babysit a 3, 7, and 8 year old. So I am constantly having effective
citizen learning strategies with them. I make sure to be aware of what the kids do online
and when using the computer.

The specific steps I plan on taking as a teacher to teach digital citizenship to all students
is to start off by making it clear to them what digital citizenship actually means. I will be
sure to explain to them that a digital citizen has the legal rights of photos, writings and
graphic designs when posted online would be subject to copyright protection. By the
meaning of this it means that nobody can download copyrightable material or use
someone elses work as their own.

Chapter 4
Digital Dialog 4.1 p.83
The parts of the standards that is most useful to me as a teacher would be Standards for
the English Language Arts, Elementary education standards, Preparing Early Childhood
Professionals NAEYCs Standards of programs and Standards of reading professionals.

Yes I believe teachers should be required to follow common national standards or
varying standards at the state or local level. I believe they should because there are
reasons these standards were set. Since there are reasons for these standards it must mean
that it is important that teachers follow them. It is stated that teachers tend to teach their
future students the way that they were taught. The implications of each of these policies
are National Standards is standards for teaching and learning with technology developed
by the intentional society for technology in education.

Chapter 6
Digital Dialogue 6.1 p.134
How I manage the information I need for my college courses and school teaching
assignments in the most time efficient ways is I do everything in a timely based manor. I
study my more hard subjects first this way I can get them out of the way and have the
remaining time I have left aside from my job on the things that do not need much time
spent on. If I have a big reading assignment over a big amount of chapters I apply myself
to read at least 1-2 hours a day in order to get it all done before its due. This way I dont
put a whole big load on my plate. In the beginning of each semester I usually set myself a
certain goal on the grade I plan on achieving. If by the end of the semester I do not reach
my goal I push myself harder for the following semester and usually cut out and extra
activities I have that are less important than my education.

The types of record keeping systems I find best for keeping track of the information I
find from electronic sources is using certain bookmarks on the computer to see where I
left off at and I could easily refer back to without wasting time looking for something I
have already done before. Yes there is a different between selctroni and paper sources.
Paper sources can easily be lost and misplaced. Electronic sources usually never go
anywhere is they are saved. I feel electronic sources are more effective at being able to
stay on task and not be lost or waste much time.

The strategies I use to avoid information overload and confusion is I try to think of the
things that interest me and try to think of mostly that stuff this way I dont get ahead of
myself with too much information that I do need. This way I can narrow out the things
that do not matter I like to take my time with things this makes it a bit easier also.
Planning and setting schedules for things to be done also help with not overloading too
much information at once.
