-Small pumpkins

Cutting the tops off of the pumpkins and placing them on the table

e are going to grow our own pumpkin! inside of another pumpkin."
They will get started by being able to e#amine the inside of their pumpkin and then putting the soil into
it.

I will e#plain to them that the seeds left inside the pumpkin can sprout another pumpkin! $ust by adding
some soil

will give them each soil to put in their pumpkin and e#plain why we need soil and not $ust regular dirt.
-I will encourage them to talk about the different parts of a pumpkin! and I will help them name parts they
do not know. &o you know where the stem of the pumpkin is%"

I will have them each place their pumpkins near the window and then will go to the door to line up for
outdoor time.
-'nother teacher will meet the children at the door. hile the children are waiting for every child to finish
and line up at the door the teacher will sing a song with them.

-The children(s pumpkins will be displayed for them to look at as often as they want. I will take notes for them
any time they notice something new.
-hile the children are outside I will have a sensory table with soil and seeds in it where they will be able to
pretend to plant and grow seeds.
