RE: Interest in the position of Intern Broadcast journalism/Journalism

I am currently a year 2 student pursuing the Diploma in Communications and Information Design at
the Republic Polytechnic of Singapore.

I am also a member of the Media Lab in school; a student-led facility that offers communications
services related to journalism, public relations and marketing communications. We are constantly
exposed to realistic work environments, to prepare us for the journalistic world.

I discovered my passion for filming and editing at the age of 12, and I aspire to work in the field of
broadcast journalism in future. In the media lab, I am given the specific role of a video editor and
head of camera due to my experience in using software such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere
Pro. My work with the Media Lab involves covering both external and internal events such as:

- the Media Challenge 2012
- A competition in RP where 18 teams from various secondary schools go against each
other to come up with the best multi-media news package.

- Hawker Food Hunt awards 2013
- An award ceremony which shows recognition to the best hawkers all over
Singapore.

I have also participated in a Project with Mediacorp, where we were tasked to come up with
screener ideas to create hype for their for their upcoming Television show, days of rage.

Other than broadcast journalism, I also have interest in writing, and I have written a feature article
for the schools newspaper the Republican Post.

I would like an opportunity to work for an internship opening in your company, as I hope to gain
more experience and exposure in the field of broadcast journalism.
