DDRS Basics

Step 1:
Upon first use, the DDRS software must be registered. To register, open DDRS by double clicking the
DDRS icon on the desktop, or go to Windows Start menu programs: Start, All Programs, Detroit Diesel,
Reprogramming System, and click DDRS.

Step 2:
The software registration page displays the tool version and Computer ID. Click Register.


Step 3:
Enter the Application ID and Password provided in order email. Click OK.


Step 4:
Password is authenticated and registers software. The Caution panel is displayed. Read and click OK.


Step 5:
To configure (or verify) USB-Link translator setup, click Tools, Options, Connection, and select SID
Configure. Select USB-Link and click OK:



Step 6:
Make sure translator (USB-Link e.g.) is connected to DDRS computer and vehicle data port connector
with ignition on. The Identification panel displays connected module information (CPC, MCM, ACM)
such as engine serial number, vehicle ID etc.










Step 7:
The Fault Codes panel displays active faults for the connected modules:











Step 8:
The Troubleshooting panel provides options to display available diagnostics by Symptom or Fault code:












Step 9:
The Instrumentation panel provides help instrument views:












Step 10:
The Service Routine panel provides functional and customized routines for testing and diagnosis:












Step 11:
The Parameters panel provides connected module display of available parameters that can be changed:











Step 12:
The Program Device panel provides a method to download an engine serial number to DDRS to
reprogram connected modules (MCM, CPC, ACM e.g.) display of available parameters that can be
changed. (Reprogramming Event purchase required).
