V. Course Rationale

The course, entitled Seminar on Financial Literacy, Business Counseling and Skills Training is intended to prepare
the OFWs and their Family to go into business, further, to equip the participants the needed attitude and
perseverance to prosper in business. Also, the training aims to assist families of OFWs to know how to keep what
they earn and doing more with what they save.
VI Objectives
As per MOI No. 001 A Series of 2009, the seminar on Financial Literacy, Business Counseling and Skills Training
seeks to achieve business prowess among the participants in order for them to sustain the financial needs of their
family as well as to generate employment within their locality.
Specifically, the seminar is aimed to achieve the following:
a) To provide them with the proper skills in business plan preparation anchored on their individual
inclination and interest so that they can consequently implement this business plan conveniently;
b) To help them maintain their business so they can well provide the basic needs of their family;
c) To help boost the over- all employment generation efforts in the Municipality; and
d) To lead them into the culture of savings and understand what their savings can do for them in the future.


VI. BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS

The seminar is live-out and therefore the participants shall shoulder their respective transportation.
