Writing a Bad-News Letter

Dear Ms. Laforga:
Buffer We were delighted to receive your letter applying for some possible
internship programs for statistics students in the next two months. It seems like
a great privilege to work with you and we would be honored to help in honing
and preparing you for your future profession.
Explanation The Department of Economic Statistics has been conducting internship
programs for many years now, and we are pleased that you particularly asked us
to have you as our trainee. Unfortunately, we had some changes in our annual
plans and to meet the target, we need to focus on the adjustments. In the next
two months, many of our people, including those who handle internship
programs, would conduct conferences in every region. However, other
departments are conducting internship programs that might still be in line with
your degree.
Decision I would like to suggest the Department of International Affairs as a
possible alternative. The department is also doing some works of analyzing
economic records, and many statistics students attend internship program
under the department. Their program is a big help to the students as they are
trained and tasked to do things related to their degree and future jobs. I assure
you of their professionalism with regards to preparing the students for their
future work.
I could ask Mr. Paolo Macaso, the director of the department, to
contact you immediately so he could give you the details.
Positive, Friendly Close Again, thank you for considering us. We are looking forward to have you
as our job applicant next year.
Truly yours,
Richer King R. Supnet
