GRADE 6 - SWIMMING GAMES ASSESMENT

CONCEPT: TIME, SPACE AND TIME


SOI: How does time space and time affect the choices we make?
Criterion D Social skills and personal engagement
As part of any activity we all need to work as individuals but also as a member of a group.
Your assessment will be based on your ability to interact and engage with other learners
and make reflections upon your work, your personal strengths and areas you can improve
upon.
Assessment Task
You are required to design and develop 2-3 fun and safe swimming games that can be used
within your group.

GAME 1
1. What is the name of the game?
2. Explain how to play the game?












Doge Dat Ball
This game is called Doge Dat ball and its a little bit like football but just with your hands
and in the water. The objective of this game is to get as many goals as possible. 6 players
necessary, age 11+. You need 1 goalie for each team and 2 people in the middle as the
people who score. You can hit the ball with what ever you want your head you foot you body
or whatever. But the only role is that you can not have the ball for more then 5 sec.
3. In what ways does this game use Space, Time and Place? Give Examples.
This game uses space how both members of the team spared out in order in order for
them to score. You must get there a fast as possible so your team member does not get
blocked. Its good to be in the right place at the right time so you can be ready to score
a goal.
4. When playing the game how does it affect the choices that you make? Think of the
following.

a) Think of the Space that you have ?
b) The time that you have?
c) The place ?
Its affects the choices you make because you must back good quick choices so you
can make the right ones at the right time and to make sure you score. You must
make sure u have speeded out in the right about and used. The decisions you make
will help you for example your other team member is blocked and he can not pass it
to you then you might think ok well maybe if I go around him and go in am empty
space then I could get the ball.
5. Why would this game would be fun and enjoyable for other students?

This game would be enjoyable because you can get some excursive and the game is
very simple and will take some thinking skills.

6. What swimming skills do you require to play this game?

You must know how to swim and also to stay afloat without your hands and if you
dont then its better if you just use a noodle. If not then its better then you just
be goalie.



7. What other skills do students require to play the game?
You must use your brain a lot a think about your space, time and place so you know where
to be at the right time.

8. Can you think of any safety factors that may be involved in your game?

If your that that confident of a swimmer to make sure you r not in danger or to the
players around you so it better that you use a noodle or something that can keep
you afloat.

9. What rules will you use to ensure that the game is fair and safe?

You can only have the ball for 8 secs and you may not hit anyone during the game or
else the other team wins.

10. If you have students that are not strong swimmers how will they be able to join in
and play the game?
They will need to have a noodle.

GAME 2

Get Dat Hoop
This game is called Get Dat Hoop. In this game you must need 4 players the more
the better but must be an even amount of people. Age 11+, In this game there is 2
teams each team must try and get as many hoops as possible there is an uneven
amount of hoops so either one team wins or the other. You may only carry one hoop
at a time and when you get a hoop you must return and then get another. You may
not throw the hoops to your corner but you may pass to your other team member,


13. In what ways does this game use Space, Time and Place? Give Examples.

In this game the hoops must be speeded out evenly so they are not to close yet no
to far. As well as the teams should be speeded so they can have a fair distends. For
time you must try and get has many hoops as possible at the fastest time the team
with the most hoops wins.

14. When playing the game how does it affect the choices that you make? Think of the
following.

f) The place ?

The must critically think about where you are going, how fast, how will you use
your time, is it a good idea to go that far, can I maybe pass it to my friend?

15. Why would this game would be fun and enjoyable for other students?

This game would be enjoyable because there is a lot of thinking involved a lot of
action a lot of team work so in my opinion it would be quite enjoyable for kids at my
age and also other ages.

16. What swimming skills do you require to play this game?

You must be fast at swimming you must know how to swim if not it is ok to use a
fluting devise such as a noodle.

17. What other skills do students require to play the game?
Thinking skills, team work, communication, physical integrations, and being the
fastest swimmer.

18. Can you think of any safety factors that may be involved in your game?
If you are not a very confident swimmer it would not be the best idea to play this
game without a fluting devise, and also no HITTING ANYONE during the game for
any reason.

19. What rules will you use to ensure that the game is fair and safe?

You may not throw the hoops to you team members, you may NOT HIT ANYONE
during any time of the game, and not recommended to unconfident swimmers
without fluting device.

20. If you have students that are not strong swimmers how will they be able to join in
and play the game?
Use a noodle or a fluting device.










GAME 3
21. What is the name of the game?
22. Explain how to play the game?















This game is called Fish, Dog, Iguana this game is a physical listening game. There
is a Boss, The followers, and the officer. The followers job is to follow what the
boss says, so if the boss says FISH!!! Then the followers must swim to the other
side and back as fast as they can like a fish. The first one to get to the other side
will be the boss and the old boss will become the officer. NEXT GAME!! The boss
says DOG!!! The followers must get the other side and back with doggy paddle or
like a dog. The first one to get back is not the boss and the only boss becomes the
officer. On the last game the boss says IQUANA theyre the followers can go any
way they like. The boss can say any of those three in any what not in that specific
way and he can also respite them. The officers job is to spot anyone who is not
doing it wright of cheating if the officer spots you doing it wrong you automatically
loose. This game is for only 5 people age 12+ you must be able to swim.

The followers must space out to make sure you do not hit anyone or bump in to
anyone.

The followers must use there time wisely to make sure they r the first one to
make it back. The officer or the boss may not be in the pool because if they are
they would have to be away from the followers so they do not bump in to them.


25. Why would this game would be fun and enjoyable for other students?

Yes it would be enjoyable because you must have some thinking skills and some
communication skills.

26. What swimming skills do you require to play this game?

You must be able to swim and also they must also have good listening eats.

27. What other skills do students require to play the game?
They must listen very good because if they do it wrong the officer will catch them
and the officer must be wide awake to catch someone.

28. Can you think of any safety factors that may be involved in your game?
If the student is not that of a confident swimmer then it is good to use a paddle
board or a noodle.

29. What rules will you use to ensure that the game is fair and safe?
You must spared out and no cheating and NOOO HITTING OR BUSHING.

30. If you have students that are not strong swimmers how will they be able to join in
and play the game?
The may use a paddle board or a noodle.
