Ms. Phanat Lor was a clinical student teacher in my Second Grade classroom at North Woods
International School from September through December, 2011. While at North Woods, Ms. Lor
participated in our 2
nd
grade PLC meetings. Ms. Lor planned and taught various integrated lessons in the
core content areas of Science and Language Arts. She also worked with students during our independent
literacy stations and assisted with other behavior issues and teaching tasks. The class consisted of 18
students, including 8 boys and 10 girls of various ethnic, socio-economic and academic backgrounds. The
class contained students with varying learning needs including: Learning Disabilities, Speech and
Language, English as a Second Language, Occupational Therapy and Emotional Behavior needs. Ms. Lor
was very effective and successful in working with all of the students in our classroom.

While at North Woods, Ms. Lor demonstrated an excellent command of the class and used different
classroom management strategies to engage her students. She was very effective in managing behaviors
and always dealt with students in a calm and respectful manner and in response she was a well received
and very respected teacher. I was very impressed with Ms. Lor's abilities to work with all students. My
students absolutely LOVED Ms. Lor as she set the standard for a stable, calm and effective classroom
environment. She strives to understand her students and you can easily tell from observing her teach that
she genuinely cares about the students she is working with. It is very evident to see that Ms. Lor is a
dedicated teacher and clearly loves working with all children.

Ms. Lor planned and taught lessons based on the common core. She used a variety of teaching strategies
including: smartboard lessons, hands-on activities, games, literature, powerpoints and more. She went
above and beyond the expectations to make her lessons creative and meaningful for her students. I was
very impressed with Ms. Lor's ability to differentiate in order to meet the needs of all her students. Ms.
Lor is a very culturally sensitive and understanding individual. I believe Ms. Lor is a natural born teacher
and extremely effective in her teaching.

Ms. Lor is a very dedicated and highly qualified teacher. I would be honored to work with Ms. Lor and
feel she would be an active asset to a PLC and school! I have the highest regard for her ability to
positively affect the lives of the students she works with. I, without any reservations, give Ms. Lor my
highest recommendation for any teaching position to which she is applying for. If you have any further
