Developed reporting skills covering most major beats, including business, courts,
municipalities and weekend cops. Led coverage during the 10th District Congressional
primary and general election, considered one of the top congressional races in 2008,
as well as other political coverage. Helped lead the newspaper in developing
multimedia and Web applications, including basic database work, digital audio and
video editing.

Covered breaking news, including a flood that affected eight Pennsylvania counties
and displaced more than 200,000 people. I wrote for the business and news desks
covering various daily stories and more in-depth Sunday packages.

Managing Editor | January 2006 – May 2006
Managed a team of reporters and editors to produce MU’s bi-weekly student
newspaper. Helped teach and train young reporters to develop skills and edited copy
on deadline.
