    “K”
    What I know…
     Have students to work, independently, either
    with a partner or with a small group, to list
    everything they know about a particular topic.

     Elicite information from students by asking them


    what they know about a particular topic.

     Brainstorming ideas and discussing can be used.

    What I want to know
     Follow the same process to have students list
    everything they want to know about the topic.
    List these in the W (want to know) column.

     Add these items to the whole class chart. Use


    these questions and topics to guide inquiry
    projects or other learning activities.

    What I have learned
     You can give written material to the students for them to
    read the information about the selected topic.

     You can play a video about the selected topic so that


    students can gather new information.

     After reading the material or watching the video, students


    will be able to identify whether they learned what they
    wanted to know plus other new information.
