During her internship Catherine Harris has been an enthusiastic, dedicated addition to her
third grade classroom. She had a very nice relationship with her cooperating teacher and
eagerly took on all tasks that were asked of her. Catherine also had a good rapport with the
students. They were comfortable with her and respected her and her instruction.
As the term progressed,
Catherine's lesson planning also continued to improve. Ms. Harris
was conscientious in addressing the core curriculum requirements and has learned to write
clear plans that are easily understood. She consistently showed in her planning that she had
knowledge of the subject matter she was to teach. Catherine also exhibited strength in unit
planning researching to find interesting lesson ideas to engage her students.
Catherine was actively involved in the activities of Ebeling Elementary. She helped in setting
up the classroom prior to the start of the year. She also attended professional development
days, staff meetings, parent/teacher
conferences and assisted at the Ebeling Beginning of the
Year picnic/carnival.
Catherine organized and taught a successful after school Math Club for 3'd
and 4th graders.
Throughout the semester Ms. Harris worked hard at improving her class management skills so
that student transitions would improve with minimal loss of instructionaltime. She readily
sought and implemented a variety of ideas and suggestions to increase student time on task.
As Catherine has set highe.r expectations and been consistent, improvement has been made.
Catherine's dedication to the children and their learning is evident. Her work ethic and
commitment to teaching have aided her as she prepares for this challenging career. She is a
true professional
and would be a fine addition to any staff. With pleasure, I recommend Ms.
Harris for certification in elementary education.
