Who was Pythagoras, and why was he so great?
Missing length of the hypotenuse
1. X= 35
2. X= 8.6
3. X=18.4
4. X=578
1. B=36
2. A=24.1
3. B=20
Pythagoras is known mainly for his
amazing theorem named after him, but
he also contributed to the mathematical
wonderland in other ways. The Tetractys,
are thought to be devised by
Pythagoras, although this may not be
outright mathematical, but thought to be
a religious gure. Some say that it was
intentioned to have contributed to the
society of math.
The Pythagorean theorem has a very basic
formula that works for any right triangle. 1
side squared + another side squared = the
hypotenuse. Of course you may reverse it
trying to nd the length of one side instead
of the hypotenuse B
