Performance Expectations Applies the articles a and an by writing sentences in her classroom. Warm up The song Good Morning Circle Time Song for Children Essential question Do you know what do the monsters like? Practice P: I am going to present my two monsters, the A consonant monster and the An vowel monster. I will explain that the A consonant monster only likes the words that begin with consonant and the An vowel monster only likes the words that starts with a vowel. Then I will paste on the board some words and I will read each word and classify them in a chart.
P: Controlled: I will give to each student a worksheet in which they have to write in the correct space the word and picture that will be pasted on the board, and then some volunteers will pass to the front to share one answer.
Semi-controlled: I will distribute to each student a multiple choice exercise in which they have to choose and color the correct answer. Then I will choose some students with the help of my magic bag to pass to the front and say one answer.
Free: I will make a chart of two sides on the board, in the left side I will paste an A and in the right side an An, then I am going to form 2 groups, one group is the A side and the other is the An side, each group will have a marker. Activity steps: 1. Both groups make a line. 2. The last one of the line has to pass the marker through the legs to the other student. 3. The marker has to be on the hands of the first one in the line. 4. When the first one gets the marker she has to run to the board and write a word in her side. 5. She has to run to the end of the line and pass the marker as well as her partner did and so on. With the help of a chronometer I will control 1 minute and the group with the most correct words win.

Wrap up I will give to each student a happy face and a happy face with a crown. I will read some sentences using the articles a and an, if I use them properly they have to raise the happy face with a crown and if I use them incorrectly they have to raise the happy face.
