It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on behalf of
Ms. Lauren Rodriguez. I have known Ms. Rodriguez for 7 years now. Lauren is a consummate
professional who is intelligent, resourceful, diligent, and above all, dedicated to
providing her students with the best possible learning experiences.

For years, Lauren and I have collaborated to create book talks and other literary
learning activities. Over the years, on her quest to provide meaningful and enduring
instruction, she has provided insight about relevant and interesting literature for us to
present to the students. She has repeatedly invited me to participate in the assessment
of the students for whom we have jointly provided instruction.

A couple of years ago when Dr. Laskey and I were applying for a Department of
Libraries Vital Grant for iPads here in the Curie Media Center, Lauren personally
researched and recommended iPad applications and she also developed a literature lesson.
Her contribution to the application process helped us to secure iPads for the Curie Media
Center.

Ms. Rodriguez works to bring useful technology and software to Curie at large. She
recently provided me with information about a free online software program that could be
used to support freshmen students who are participating in the Freshmen Recovery process
in the library. She is also in the process of talking to vendors who provide access to
high quality, Common Core aligned online non-fiction that will not only support teacher
instruction but also bolster student Lexile scores and student achievement.

Throughout the time that I have known Ms. Rodriguez, she has always been not only
knowledgeable but willing to do whatever work was necessary to provide her students
access to the most up-to-date, cutting edge online educational tools in order to provide
maximum technological exposure while equipping them with thorough instruction. I am
impressed with Ms. Rodriguez as both an educator and a colleague. Even though I had been
an educator for years when I met her, I have been continually inspired by her knowledge,
her innovative approaches, her positive attitude, and her seemingly endless energy.

Educators like Ms. Rodriguez are vital in terms of providing the best possible
education for our students because she works not only to be the best that she can be, but
also to improve the practices of those around her. I honestly cannot think of a better
fit for the position of technology coordinator here at Curie High School. Thank you for
