Elche is a small town in Spain in the vicinity of the Mediterranean Sea. At the north of Elche there are two natural beaches with fine sand and clear waters, known under the name of Arenales de Sol. The Economy of Elche is based, largely, on the footwear industry, with more than 1000 shoe factories as it is one of the most important footwear industries in Spain and the west of Europe. In those six years in which we lived there I visited a lot of times the Municipal Institute of Culture, a famous symbol of the city is a masterpiece called The Lady of Elche; the sculpture is generally believed to be a piece of Iberian Sculpture. Although I was a little girl, I gained much knowledge both at the school in which I studied for four years as well as in day to day life where absolutely all the people around me were very kind. That is how they behave with everybody coming from abroad. City streets are very clean, there were measures taken for stray dogs and there is none on the streets and every person who is poor has a small room for themselves. They work hard to have everything they need. A very important thing today for most of the jobs is to know other languages and I am proud of the fact that I got the chance to learn the Spanish language. Last but not least I would like to recommend to everybody who likes travelling a very important spot in the city named Elche Palm Grove. It is an orchard of more than 200000 palm trees. If I may have the possibility to go back there, I would go right now. It is a small town but unforgettable.
