Algebra Reflection

I feel that I put more effort than I did last year. This year Ive missed less classes than I
did before. I tried even harder to make sure I understood what I was learning. Also, I frequently
asked questions if I didnt understand a step or formula that was needed in order to successfully
solve a problem. My grades have definitely improved. Rather than last year, where my grades
were either high or low. My grades have grown more steady than last year.

To me, I feel as if I made much more progress than before. I lacked the knowledge that I
was supposed to be learning last year. For example, I didnt understand how to do system of
equations, using transitive property. System of equations, is when you have two sets of
equations and equal them to one another to find the value of x. I didnt understand that you
had to solve the problem in order to find x. I thought you had to find the value of x and y. But
thats not the case.

This year I realized where I went wrong with system of equations using transitive
property. What you're supposed to do is solve both equations for the value of x. Once you
finish solving the value for x, you substitute x for one of the equations youre given. When you
finish substituting the value of x, youll then figure out what the value of y is. But Ive gained
more grasp of the concepts I was learning last year. On a scale from 1-10, Id give myself an 8.
If I needed assistance, Id ask a student in my class or another student whod taken Algebra.

What I learned about myself this year is that Ive grown more confident in Algebra 1.
Even though I had to stay back, Im proud of the hard work Ive shown throughout this class. I
have shown an exceeding amount of growth in Algebra this year. Im proud of the knowledge
that Ive gained since I retook this class.

Next year will be a good year for me. The two years of work that Ive been in Algebra,
will pay off in the long run. Ive gained more knowledge on what Ive learned, and it will show
next year. Ill continue to show my hard work next year in Geometry, so I can be the successful
student that I want to be. I will show more Integrity, to make sure that I dont fail Geometry or
dont understand the units in the best of my ability. To me, Integrity means to be honest with
myself if I dont understand a problem that was given to me, and ask the teacher for guidance
on how to solve the problem. I want to make sure I understand what Im learning so I can be a
successful student in Geometry. But, I feel that Ill be a successful Geometry student next year.
