m,15m.
On our BTS site normally we use
1.5m for indoor & 3m for outdoor.
It comes with connectors
embedded in it.
Some connectors are show

PROCEDURE
Jumper Laying & Termination
Weather the jumper cable is
indoor or outdoor the jumper
cables terminates through
jumper connectors.
There are several jumper
connectors those are DIN-M,
DIN-F, N-M, N-F, DIN-LM, N-LM
Normally DIN-LM, N-LM are
always connected to BTS port
but vice versa is not true.

Antenna line in detail presented by Pranav Gupta 26
PROCEDURE
Routing of outdoor jumper cable
Three ways through which
outdoor jumper cable route
1. Routing through u loop.
2. Routing through no loop.
3. Routing through closed loop.
As illustrated according to the
number

Routing of indoor jumper cable
The indoor jumper cable route in
four ways:
1. Route through no loop.
2. Route through u loop.
3. Route through closed loop.
4. Route along with cable tray
with no loop.

Weather proofing contains 5 layers
Layer 1 includes PVC tape
Layer 2 includes Butyl tape
Layer 3 includes Rubber tape
Layer 4 includes PVC tape
Layer 5 includes cable ties

We have to bind the tape against the
flow of water
Cable ties used are black in color
Layer 2 is smaller than layer 1 &
Layer 3 is smaller than layer 2 &
Layer 4 covers all the 3 layers
Layer 2 Butyl tape is a very sticky
tape very hard to remove thats why
we use PVC layer as level 1. It melts
in hot weather. PVC layer protects it
from deposition on connectors
Layer 3 is rubber tape generally
applied with pressure. It is non sticky
tape. We apply PVC tape to save
pressure of rubber tape.
Layer 4 is applied & covers all the
three layers.
Layer 5 is use to bind the all layers.

PROCEDURE
Weather proofing
Feeder cable
Feeder cable is used because its cable
loss is very minimum according to
jumper cable.
Earthing kit is placed on Feeder cable
at every 30m from the 1
st
feeder
Earthing kit.
Clamps are mainly used to bind the
feeder cable.
The bending radius of Feeder cable
should be grater than 300mm
There are two points where we bend
the feeder cable at the joining of VCT
& HCT & at Roxtec.

IGB , EGB and GROUNDING CABLE
IGB is Internal Grounding Bar.
EGB is External Grounding Bar.
Surge Arrester is connected to IGB and IGB is connected
to EGB and EGB is connected to Earthing Pit through
Grounding Cable.
There are two grounding cables used in it
1. 16 sq. mm green color grounding cable connected in
between IGB and Surge Arrester
2. 35 sq. mm yellow- green color grounding cable
connected in between IGB and EGB
There are two types of nuts and bolt used in the site 1
st
is
10 number and 2
nd
is 13 number. 13 number is used to
connect the surge arrester to the grounding cable and rest
is 10 number used everywhere.
IGB & EGB is placed just 500mm-1m just below the WFT.
IGB is placed inside the shelter & EGB is placed outside
the shelter or at the tower
