Benchmark problem:

A benchmark is standard test problem with known target solutions in the

form of ply contours and graphs obtained using analytical method. Problem of
progressive ply failure analysis of composite plate which has analytical results are
available in the literature [].
The problem details:
A 15-ply tensile specimen containing a centrally located circular hole is
considered. The composite laminate is 5.85 inches long and 1.5 inches wide with a
hole diameter of 0.25 inches. The thickness of esch ply is 0.01inches and the
laminate stacking sequence is [(45)
