Software
• ENA for SMART, Epi Info or WHO anthro 2005 can
be used for data entry as well as data analysis.
• Those programs can be used for the calculation of
anthropometric indicators Weight-for-age (wt/age),
Height-for-age (ht/age) and Weight-for-height
(wt/ht).
• The indicators are calculated based on National
Center for health statistic data or New Growth
Reference WHO 2005 or Both.
• They can be expressed in terms of percentile, Z-
score, and percentage of the median of the
references

 Introduction
• The purpose of ENA for SMART is to
make nutrition assessments and mortality
rate calculations in emergency situations
as easy and reliable as possible. To
achieve this it focuses on the most
important indicators (anthropometric and
mortality data),

• The anthropometric indices (Z-scores of height-
for-age, weight-for-height, and weight-for-age)
and graphics for the anthropometric indices with
comparison to the NCHS standard or WHO 2005
standard are calculated and produced
automatically
• The program is thoroughly tested and the z-
score calculation identical to other programs
(EpiInfo, WHO Anthro 2005)
