1. From Uncle Toms Cabin. American Protest Literature.
Cambridge, MA: Belknap
of Harvard UP, 2006. Print The story began with a mother who was a slave escaped from south and her conservation with the hosts. She explained why she escaped because it seemed no reason for her to escape for her masters treated her good. Then from the story introduced to the perspective of political, it suggested senator to do for justice. Then it was a dialogue between two boys, when they discussed their country. One of the boys idea was it was not my country here because the country did not protect him but slaved him. And he would fight for his liberty. 7. Prison Letters. American Protest Literature. Cambridge, MA: Belknap of Harvard UP, 2006. Print This is the sum of the last letters from John Brown written in prison. He is not talking about the injustice of the world and the government, but he truly believe God and talk to his family not be ashamed about his crime and believe God. It is an article full of hatred, but an article with forgiveness and love. In his last period of life, he seems to transform from a violence image to a Christ-like image. He used Jesus Christs quote as May God forgive them, for they know not what they do. The power of these letters are everlasting, not a period of influence like his violence movements, but really express his belief on abolitionist movement. This is useful. It is very touching and emotional. Also, this can be reliable. Because the author wrote it in sober.
