Partnership with families & communities In Lincoln Elementary School the way to sustain partnerships with families and the community is to arrange an open house so that everyone in the classroom can meet each other parents and meet the teacher, to have parent teacher conference so that the parent can get to know each and every child parent better and setting up different activities for people to volunteer and lend a helping hand to others that may need help. According to Child Development when families slip into poverty, effective parenting and childrens development are profoundly threatened (Berk, 2013). Since many of these children are receiving free lunch there may be a possibility that some children may have some difficulty learn but with these partnerships above they will influence the learning and development of children by having each parent get to know each other which may open doors for another parent to get any help they may need from another parent that may not know. By meeting with the teacher this will help for teachers and parent to stay on the same level and to get there child extra help in different subjects if needed. And by creating different activities for people to volunteer with this may help the children get extra help with learning the English because there may be some people out there that is willing to give a helping hand to help with learning to speak English. All of these partnership will help in some way or another.
Middle Childhood The period of development this presentation is focuses on is the Middle Childhood age. Middle Childhood children range from 6 years old to 11 years old. Children in this period of development usually can do things on their own, start to understand more, and experience more things in life. As these children become older they start to care more about how they look, about their friendships and they are preparing their selves for junior high school. Role of Teacher My role as a teacher is to make sure that I create a healthy, happy and comfortable environment for the children in my classroom. I will teach and help the children with many subjects. I will make sure that the students are happy and get a positive feeling while in the class. I will monitor the children and make sure to keep in touch with parents and guardians so that they will know what is going on with their children throughout the year. Mesosystem The Mesosystem is one level of the ecological system. It is the interaction between different relationships such as family, teachers, and friends. According to Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems Theory of Development The mesosystem is where a person's individual microsystems do not function independently, but are interconnected and assert influence upon one another. These interactions have an indirect impact on the individual (Education Portal, 2014). Epsteins Types of Involvement Epsteins Types of involvement include six different types:
PARENTING: Help all families establish home environments to support children as students. (Epstein, 2014)

LEARNING AT HOME: Provide information and ideas to families about how to help students at home with homework and other curriculum-related activities, decisions, and planning. (Epstein, 2014)
