Multiple Intelligence Test Interest Inventory Observation
Describe specific information you learned about this child through the three assessments identified above.
(This might include areas of interest, learning styles, learning disabilities, distractions, physical disabilities,
social skills, etc.)(15 pts)
The first assessment I administered was the Multiple Intelligence Test. I gave the students a list of of
sentences about things they might like to and instructed them to put a check next to the ones that applied to
them. Edwin scored very high in each of the levels and was one of the first students in the class to finish the
assessment. He got a 6 on music smart, 5 on picture smart, 7 on word smart, 7 on nature smart, 7 on math
smart, 7 on body smart, 6 on people smart, and 7 on self smart. This shows me that he did not take the time to
read the questions or felt like he could not read them and understand them.
The second assessment was an Interest Inventory. I learned a lot about Edwin through this assessment. I
learned that he has two younger siblings named Lourdes and Kimberly. I learned that his best friends are
Bronson and Derek, who are in the class as well. He likes to play games and go fishing. His favorite food is
pizza, he likes the Lego Movie, and Micheal Jackson. He wrote that one thing he liked about his previous
teacher was the she took them on a trip.
Through observation I noticed that Edwin is the leader during recess times. The other boys carry him and call
him their master. This was surprising to me because the other boys are physically and educationally superior
to him. I also noticed him picking a younger student from another class that he did not even know. This
behavior raised a concern to me. I have not noticed it since. During class Edwin is either off task, talking, or
falling asleep.
Identify a behavior or an academic skill that you would focus on to help this child be more successful at school.
(Some suggestions are: staying in seat, developing social skills, completing assignments, anger issues, more
challenging assignments and/or instruction, etc.) (10 pts) ,O
For this child I would focus on staying on task and following directions to complete tasks.
Describe how you will use specific information collected from the three assessments listed above in a plan to
help this student improve his/her behavior, make school more meaningful and successful and/or help this child
to develop socially, intellectually, and/or emotionally. (The information collected might include: favorite foods,
favorite school content areas, social skills or social settings, personal areas of interest such as animals,
electronics, sports, countries other cultures, learning styles, etc.) (15 pts)
Through these three assessment I learned a lot about Edwin and how to help him stay on task and follow
directions to complete tasks.
First, I would talk to him about his behavior to see exactly what was going on with him. To see if he is bored
during class, too confused to try, or just does not care.
Once I figured out how to better help Mm in his situation I would plan activities and assignments that would
keep him engaged. In his interest inventory sheet he mentioned that he liked to play games a couple times. I
would create games to go along with the lessons I was teaching to Ms interest in what was going on in the
class.
He also wrote he like that his old teacher took them on trips. So, I would, as often as possible, take the
students out to different places, or go on mini trips to learn. Such as a nature walk around the neighborhood
when learning about different science concepts.
If I did not notice any improvement in Edwins behavior then I would have another conference with him and
talk about a plan. I would tell Mm how important it is to stay on task and follow directions. I would ask him
Ms long term goals. Some might include graduating high school or college or getting a good job. Then we
would set up short term goals like paying attention in class and following directions so he can accomplish
those long term goals. .

Through the multiple intelligence test administered to I learned that her strongest areas are music,
picture, and nature smart and her lowest areas are body and self smart. From the answers she selected it was
obvious that she took the time to read and think about what she was selecting. She even made a key for her
answers, a check meant yes, and X meant no, S meant some, and M meant maybe.
I have learned a lot about ethrough the Interest Inventory. She has and older brother who is thirteen, Jonah
and three younger sibling Caya (7), Malkamie (5), and Atini (3). She likes to read, play with family, and
cook while she is at home. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, pogoing, rollerblading, and bike riding. Her
favorite food is watermelon, favorite movie is The Last Airbender, and she likes a lot of books. If she had a
million dollars she would help charity and build a huge garden. This tells me that she is a very kind girl and
that she cares about others. Through this survey I also learned that she loves her family because she likes
playing games with them.
Through observation I have learned many other things about Ellie. I have learned that she has two very close
friends that she likes to play with at recess (from a different class), or she likes to play alone. I have noticed
that she is very intelligent. She always gets her work done fast and is noticing and picking up on high level
concepts that other students might not get.

Using the information collected from the assessments I will help make school more meaningful by providing
assignments that challenge Ellie.
The first thing that I would do would be to talk to Ellie about the kind of things that she would like to do in
class, for assignments, or what she would be interested in learning more about.
Then, I would administer a pre-test on the subject being covered in class so I do not miss anything that she
needs to learn about while doing her independent project.
I would compact the curriculum by having another meeting with her to come up with an assignment that
would help her grow and to learn more in depth about the subject. I would give her options of different things
or we could come up with something original.
Something else I could do would be sidebar activities. For example, if we are learning about pioneers we
could have a sidebar about whatever part of their lives interest her the most. Maybe this would be their
clothing or food. Then she would do research and activities to learn more about this particular part of the
subject.
