2 Reflection
Candidates regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and disposition to
improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-
enhanced learning experiences.
Reflection
Writing a blog reflection requires a recap of the most important things that have
happened with that class or the most important facts from an article or other text. When
completing a blog, it requires thought and a process for describing what learning has
taken place. It stands to reason that doing this requires thought into what was most
meaningful and important in the class, article, text, etc. It provides a record of things we
dont want to forget that can be looked at over and over again to see what we felt was
important. If I have a question about something that I vaguely remember from a class I
can go to the blog page I created and see what my thoughts were at the time. !his
refreshes my memory so that I can hopefully take that and apply it to the present.

artifact demonstrates my ability to evaluate and reflect on things Ive seen, done and
read to enhance my profession as a &edia "pecialist. 'y keeping the blog up-to-date with
recent things I have participated in it allows me to reflect on the most important and
relevant things that I have learned. When doing this it is important for me to evaluate the
most important aspects of what I have learned to hopefully have an impact on my
professional practices and dispositions. !o be a !echnology leader it takes lots of
learning and maintaining to successfully lead others and keeping a blog is one of way
doing this. It seems that when things are written down we tend to remember them longer,
and if not, we do have them to look back on when written down. 'y keeping the blog I
now only can keep up-to-date with the latest (ob related entities that can enhance myself
and others at )ohnson County &iddle*+igh "chool. 'log entries are for others as well as
me, other can read the blogs and begin a thought process of their own for change and
possibly questions that will enhance the professional practices of others also. I also
thinks it is a very thought provoking task when blogging that brings meaning to the topic
and also helps one to remember what the importance of the task at hand was. Reflection
allows us as individuals to asses ourselves as far as what things are important to us and
why we do what we do, writing these thoughts down helps draw out things sometimes
that cant be said. !he goal for all is to strengthen ourselves and our profession and
keeping an up-to-date blog is one way to do this.
'log posting has been a valuable tool for me throughout this program. I have learned to
reflect and put my thoughts to writing. !his is valuable for me in that it requires me to
decide what the most important facts are and how they factor in to helping me in my
profession. Words become meaningful when we write them down as to their importance
to us, this also makes it possible for us to look back and (og our memory of things that
are relevant that maybe we have forgotten. -earning experiences only become
meaningful when we truly can apply them to our professional practices and the way we
learn.
'logs are meaningful for all participants. !hat is why I developed one for the &edia
Center. It is a place for interaction between me, the students and the teachers. If there are
questions or comments that can help enhance what they are doing in the classrooms or
what I am doing in the &edia Center the blogs are definitely worthwhile. 'logs will
definitely enhance the faculty and school by taking time to evaluate and reflect on
important issues and trending new technology for all.
