Umberella Collective evolves into UmberElla Co Op

UmberElla - Print Co Op
commences 1 July
The success of the Umberella Collective
has prompted the creation of the
UmberElla Co Op, a group of Creators
Artspace members who have hung their
impressive print works in the studio
space at Creators. A real vibrancy is
now obvious to all who enter with every
surface adorned with stunning prints.
Abi Thompson has included some of her
printed garments and most co-op
members have cards available for sale.
UmberElla is open from 10:30am to 4pm
Wednesday to Sunday.

This years AGM will be held at Creators
Artspace, Gateway Island Wodonga. The
election of President, Vice President,
Secretary and Treasurer will be
conducted. Paid up members are
eligible to vote so please ensure that

Flourish Workshops
Creators Member, Lynnette
Callaghan is organizing free
workshops commencing 9
August. Flourish is offering six
Creativity for Wellbeing Art Workshops to
members and the local community. This
Project is being funded by the City of
Wodonga through an Arts and Cultural
Contribution New Initiative Grant. The
workshops are timed to take place in
August and September, preceding the
annual October Mental Health Month Art
Exhibition, Flourish, held at Creators
Artspace Gallery.
Each group workshop session will offer
participants the opportunity to work
towards exhibiting their artworks in
the October 1st to 11th Flourish Art
Exhibition, which celebrates Mental
Health Month. Artist quality materials
are to be provided for this workshop
program. Experienced,
accredited artist teachers will be
running these free of charge

Paul Temple
exhibition opens 12
August
Border Photographer, Paul Temple
opens his 7
th
exhibition at Creators
Artspace on 12 August. This years show
is called Orient Expression and is the
culmination of 2 recent trips to China. Paul
says that his images are atypical of the usual
travelogue and he has included many
cityscapes and landscapes from Guilin and
Zhangjiajie districts. He also focuses on the
uniqueness of streetscapes in China and says
he could have filled the whole show with
images from one street alone. The opening of
Orient Expression is on Saturday 16
th
August
at 11am.

REPORT
Our long time Coordinator, Ali Rowe, left on
28 March after 3 years in the role. Her
replacement, Karen Beck hopes to continue
the good work Ali achieved.
There is plenty planned for Creators over the
next few months including the Flourish
series of workshops, Paul Temples
exhibition and the continuation of the
UmberElla Print CoOp.
