2010 Animal Control Guidelines | ‘The attached guidelines provide your township and its officials clarification of upcoming animal control in your township in 2010. Please do not hesitate to call me should you have any questions (484-788-8062). Also, please note that I do need a point of contact to authorize pick-up of dogs running at large in your township. If you do not already have a signed copy of your contract, I have enclosed that as well. ‘As discussed at township meetings, your township has chosen to cover only the cost of stray dogs, not owner relinquished dogs. ‘Trap-Neuter-Retumn will be practiced for free-roaming cats, at no cost to the township, As always, whenever there is change, please anticipate some resistance to your township not covering intake costs for xelinquished animals. We at Peaceable Kingdom hope that you will let your township residents know about the program in place before the start of the new year, to minimize angst on the part of your residents, From experience, we know that ‘many animals turned in as ‘strays? are indeed owned animals, so we hope your township is prepared for some concern and agitation from individuals who have taken advantage of township animal control contracts in years past. Again, please do not hesitate to call me with any questions. We will be seeking to get information into local papers in advance of the change of animal control agencies. We look forward to providing humane, economically viable animal care and control for your township. Just for your information, we toured the old Lehigh County juvenile detention center yesterday, located near Cedarbrook in South Whitehall. The building would lend itself perfectly for use as a county-wide animal care and control facility. If you know anyone in administration for Lehigh County ot any County Commissioners and should you want to champion this presently empty county building being utilized for the animals, please get in touch with them and support out proposal. Peaceable Kingdom would be willing to pay for any updates needed for the building as well as maintaining it in the coming yeats. But first the county would have to let us use the building, and then we would have to make sure we meet zoning requirements. Keep your fingers crossed! 4 Liz Jdnes CSS, Peaceable Kingdom Lynn Township Animal Control Services with Peaceable Kingdom Peaceable Kingdom's animal control services will seek to provide an economically viable humane alternative to your township's present choices.
