types of tests and assessment
tasks students have experienced.
Formative

often means no more
than that the assessment
is carried out frequently
and is planned at the same
time as teaching. (Black
and Wiliam, 1999)

include:
Essay- to test the ability to discuss, evaluate,
analyse, summarise and critise
Assignment task- oral/written, a newspaper or
magazine article, a video, a poster
Group project- collaborative performance
Examination- Open-book, MCQ, Viva,
performance
Self and peer assessment- marking a peers
work and giving them feedback
