Angle of repose measurement-

A pile of material may be found on a horizontal surface by dropping material through a funnel. The
funnel is held closely to the horizontal surface to start with and is gradually raised as the size of the pile
is increased with about 25 mm clearance. This is done to prevent the impact on the pile. The nozzle is to
be round and 4 to 6 times the maximum particle size in diameter, but not less than 12 mm. The size of
the test sample is to be such that the bottom of the nozzle is 6 times the maximum particle size but not
less than 100 mm above the horizontal surface when the pile is completed.
