U.S. Senate
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Levin,

I am attending Ferris State University and will be completely my bachelors in nursing Fall 2014.
I would like to see programs set up in Colleges in Michigan that helps the general public to
understand ways to benefit a person as a whole. My goal is to have support from the senate to be
able to set into place services at my college and the surrounding areas.

Treating the person as a whole is an idea that we can create a healthy environment that includes
physical, rational and emotional well being while incorporating a holistic approach. The
objectives can be to reduce illness by providing health maintenance services, to educate the
community on how to reduce illness through the mind, body and soul and promote health
behaviors as a way to the general community. Stress is a part of everyone lives, but when it
becomes overwhelming it can cause a shorter life span, decreased energy and work ethic. I am
hoping to promote the healthy stress reduction through classes such as yoga, support groups and
healthy eating. Not every college offers these types of classes for its student. I believe it is
imperative that it is incorporated into colleges in Michigan. While this is a broad plan, each
college should have their own action plan.

Thank you, Senator Levin for reading this letter and being aware of this important health issue in
Michigan.

Sincerely,

Danielle Bular
