• Location done with the help of V-
block
• Also angle plate is used with 2 ribs to
support it(here surface A is used for
location
• To mount the work piece on lathe
Face plate &Back plate are also used
 CLAMPING
STRAP CLAMP
 LOADING
• Loosen the strap clamp
• Lift the V block with the help of the handle
provided
• Place the work piece at right angle on angle
plate with surface B facing front
• Tighten the straps on either sides
• Then move the V block down & fit it properly
on cylindrical surface above the face B
 UNLOADING
• Loosen the strap clamps on either
sides
• Lift the V block gently
• Remove the work piece

& has 3 threaded
holes for fitting the
same at 120 degrees
to one another
• From the spindle side
i.e. from back plate
side 3 screws are
fitted in these holes
ANGLE PLATE
• It is made of cast iron
• It has two ribs for
supporting the weight of
work piece with the two
plate at right angle
• It has 2 holes for fitting it
to face plate
• Screw is inserted &
hexagonal nut is fitted on
it
V BLOCK
• It is made of cast iron &
steel
• It is used to hold the
cylindrical surface
• It has a handle with
sphere mechanism for
up & down movements
SETTING BLOCK
• It is temporary type of
setting block
• It guides the tool for
the cutting surface
• Once guided can b
removed
LEAD BLOCK
• It is made of lead
• It is used for balancing
the weight of work
piece & angle plate
together
