Course Name: WOW: Leading and Speaking Well
Course Book: Developing the Leader Within You Workbook by John Maxwell (Workbook)
Course Hours: Monday, 7:00pm 8:15pm
Course Requirements: There are no course prerequisites. However, this class requires that you
complete all of the mandatory reading assignments and/or complete any pre-work prior to
attending class.
Attendance: You must attend at least six of the eight classes to receive a certificate of
completion for the course. You will receive one excused absence in addition to one unexcused
absence.
Course Description: Wow: Leading and Speaking Well is designed to teach key leadership and
speaking principles that can be applied to ministry, corporate work and life. We will focus on
biblical principles as well as key biblical leaders to learn how to integrate faith with our
leadership.

Course Project: The class will culminate with a 1-2 minute presentation by each student on a
selected irrefutable law of leadership. Throughout the course the student should be careful to
observe speakers in the classroom and outside of the classroom to pick up tips on how to
present their information effectively. The student can use any presentation style (PowerPoint,
creative, illustrations, stories, etc.). Please notify the teacher by Week 6 *of your selected Law
and presentation style. The class will provide feedback and the presentation will be recorded.
