Conditions for Award of Degree Effective from Even Sem 2010

B.TECH
(a) Secures a CGPA equal to 4.5 or more
(b) Earning a minimum 195 credits or as applicable for the program.
(c) Completing the degree requirement in a maximum duration of six years. This
includes the period of rustication / expulsion but excludes the semester
withdrawal.
(d) Successfully completing the Industrial Internship.
(e) Have no failure in the core courses.

M.TECH
(a) The degree shall be awarded upon earning a minimum credits as defined in
the curricula. Currently it equates to earning a minimum No. of credits
specified in the curricula.
(b) Secures a CGPA equal to 5 or more
(c) No failure in the core courses.
(d) For full time students, a minimum of two years of registration in the M.Tech
programme is required. The M.Tech programme must be completed within a
period of three years. This includes the period of rustication / expulsion but
excludes the semester withdrawal.
(e) For part time students a minimum registration of three years is required and
the student must complete the M.Tech programme within 4 years. This
includes the period of rustication / expulsion but excludes the semester
withdrawal.
(f) Upon completing 34 credits and after completion of 2 semesters, a full time
M.Tech student may be allowed to exit from the M.Tech programme. A part
time student may exit any time after meeting this credit requirement. In such
cases of horizontal exit a Postgraduate Diploma in the subject concerned will
be awarded.
(g) The facility of horizontal exit with the award of postgraduate diploma is not
available to a student who gets Institute scholarship.

DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMS
For a student to qualify for award of Dual Degrees of B. Tech & M. Tech following
conditions are mandatory: -
(a) Obtaining a CGPA of 4.5 and above in the program.
(b) Earning a minimum of 258 Credits / Minimum Credits as laid down in the
program structure.
(c) All core courses must be cleared, as defined in the Dual Degree curricula both
for B. Tech and M. Tech programs.
(d) Completing the requirements of the Program in a maximum of seven years.
(e) Completion of requirement of Industrial Training as essential for B. Tech
Program.
