Research integrity is very important while doing PhD or doing any academic jobs.

Important research
misconducts that affect integrity badly are alteration or fabrication of the results, falsification and
plagiarism. And doing research which destructs the human research ethics, eg., conducting clinical trials
illegally on humans. In the publication we can see the misconducts like skipping the authorship to
researchers who are really involved in the research and giving authorships that are undeserved. Financial
misconduct is another issue that misuse of funds which are allocated to do the research. Another issue is
doing dangerous research without having protection. Recently I have heard from my friends that, editors
of the good scientific journals are insisting the authors to insert their journal references in to the
manuscripts. Then only they are considering those articles for publication, it is also a kind of misconduct.
We must adhere to the research integrity, otherwise we will face many problems like, personal reputation
damage also to the organization, it badly affects the funding to further research. Plagiarism is the biggest
issue, if a person does it consciously or unknowingly, people consider it as a intentional attempt. Because
a researcher aware of all these research ethics. For this every institute or organization must conduct
research integrity training classes for new research students.
