WeareveryconcernedaboutthesafetyofBainbridgeresidentChiaraDAngeloaswecontinueto
developourproperty.Wewanthertounderstandthatweacknowledgeherpointofview.Werespect
herrightandallcommunitymembersrightstovoicetheiropinions.Butwerespectfullyurge
DAngeloandallotherstodothisinasafeandlawfulmanner.
Wealsowanttoemphasizethefollowing:
VisconsiCo.isdevelopingcommerciallyzonedpropertyinthemannerintendedbytheCityand
followinganextensiveandtransparentpublicreviewprocess.
Thepublicreviewinvolvedanopenandcompleteforumforpubliccommentincludingourappearances
beforeappropriatecitycommissionsandoveramonthlongpublichearingexaminerprocess.Eachof
thesehasverifiedthatourvisionandplansmeetallcodesandregulationsaswellastheintentofthe
Cityslongrangeplan.
WehavemetmanytimeswithmembersoftheIslandersforResponsibleDevelopmentandbelievedwe
hadreachedcommongroundregardingourproceedingonthisproject.Wehavemetwithcityofficials,
homeownersandmembersofthebusinesscommunity.
Thefollowingareexamplesofextrastepswehavetakenorwilltake:
WecollaboratedwiththeIslandersforResponsibleDevelopmenttoidentifyanarboristto
adviseusregardingremovaloftrees.Ourfinalplangoesaboveandbeyondparameterssetby
theCitysrecentlyenactedtreepreservationordinance.
Anytreestakendownfordevelopmentwillbeusedforlumber,andweareplantingnumerous
newtreesonothersitestheCitywillidentify.
Ourdevelopmentisfarlessthanhalfthesquarefootagewecoulddevelopunderpreexisting
commercialzoning.
Ourdevelopmentwillbepedestrianfriendly,withamultipurposepathandbicycleshedto
encouragealternativetransportation.
WeintendtoproceedtodevelopanddeliverthesetotheBainbridgeIslandcommunityatthislocation.
Webelievetheproducts,services,employmentandtaxesmadeavailablebyourdevelopmentsbring
balancedbenefittoourcommunities.
