DE fumigation Philosophy for Double Blower System The AHU shall be provided by fresh air dampers for normal usage (typically 10 % of AHU capacity) and for DE fumigation usage (equal to AHU capacity). The DE fumigation philosophy for double blower system can be achieved by the methods as described below:
Method 1 The return air from clean room shall be diverted into two ways, return air going back to the AHU and the other going directly to the atmosphere. These systems shall use NO NC (Normally open, Normally Close) control for diverting the air stream to the respective air streams. The return air going back to the AHU shall be with a with a NO motorized low leakage damper (Mixing Damper) and the one going to atmosphere shall be provided with NC motorized low leakage damper for normal function. The function gets reversed during the DE fumigation mode. The exhaust ducts shall be done separately for individual AHUs. This method is best suitable for the facility as in addition to the DE fumigation use age this system also allows for better pressure balancing (since both supply and return air stream work on different static it is easier for air balancing the clean rooms and to avoid unnecessary modulation of the VFDs of a single blower) in the clean rooms.
9 Other salient features of the HVAC system are as follows
Dedicated double skin double blower AHUs with the thermal break profile are recommended for classified clean room areas as per the available AHU zoning drawing. The recommendation for these units is for better pressure balancing and for assisting in faster DE fumigation for clean rooms.
Dedicated double skin single blower AHUs are recommended for CNC and uncontrolled areas with the thermal break profile.
AHUs shall have supply/ return air plug fan with flow measuring device comprising of calibrated nozzle and differential pressure transmitter. Supply/ Return air plug fans shall be provided with variable speed drive as an energy saving measure.
Treated fresh air units shall be provided to offset the sensible and latent loads of the atmosphere to individual air handling units thereby increasing the coil surface area for all AHUs. This unit shall also be utilised to provide constant fresh air conditioned to
