Satellite C50 / C55 (PSCJG*)
Windows 7 x64 Installation Notes

Please note:

This unit was designed for Win8.1. These Drivers are for reference only. Some features may
not work properly. If you encounter technical issues or problems please switch to the
recommended Win8.1 operating system. Toshiba doesnt offer technical support for
problems caused by using this driver.

Windows 7 x64 Installation Notes:

(1) Before installing Windows 7 x64, its mandatory to update the BIOS to at least V1.30.
Otherwise theres no possibility to disable Secure Boot and to switch to CSM Boot
Mode instead of UEFI Boot Mode in the BIOS. Please download the proper BIOS via
our support pages and follow the prescribed BIOS update instructions.

(2) After a successful Windows 7 x64 installation, the USB ports of the notebook do not
work, because Windows 7 x64 does not innately support the USB controller of this unit.
Please follow these steps to either copy the drivers via ODD to the internal HDD or to
use a USB device without installing the driver:
a. Copy the drivers to a CD/DVD and install them via CD/DVD
b. Boot another operating system (e.g. via ODD) and copy the drivers to the
internal HDD
c. Enter the BIOS, disable the USB 3.0 controller and save the settings. Boot
Windows 7 x64. The USB ports can be used now. Copy all the drivers via USB.
After copying all drivers, enter the BIOS again and enable the USB 3.0 controller
(the USB 3.0 controller must be enabled again; otherwise its not possible to
install the USB driver)

(3) Installation Order
We suggest to install first of all the Chipset driver. For all other drivers there are no
dependencies.

(4) Bluetooth
If your unit is equipped with a Bluetooth module (combined WiFi Bluetooth module),
please be sure to install the drivers in the following order:
a. Atheros Wireless LAN driver
b. Bluetooth Filter Driver
c. Bluetooth Stack
d. Toshiba Value Added Package (TVAP)

(5) Intel Trusted Execution Engine (TXE)
Dependent on which Windows 7 x64 installation medium is used (which Service Packs
and Hotfixes are already included), a yellow exclamation mark over the Intel TXE device
can appear in the device manager. Please install the latest Windows update to correct
this.
