Show example of ink still life Before beginning, prepare the work surface by rolling a piece of masking tape and sticking it to the bottom of the ink container and securing it to your work surface. Fill container with water. Wet the watercolor paper by running it under the sink and fully saturating it with water. Or soaking it with a sponge saturated with water until the entire surface of the paper glistens. Do not blot. Paint a contour of the object or objects you are observing with a brush dipped in ink. NOTE>do not blot paper. The ink will run or fuss- out. Continue to build and develop the image more fully as the paper continues to dry out. As the surface dries, the ink will become more controlled. Use small brushes and/or quill pens to add finishing touches or embellishments. Or you can rewet the surface of the paper for less controlled line.
