The research is carried out for the purpose of the pile load test interpretation. Comparison between
failed and unfailed piles was made in this study. The Chin method was used as a tool to generate the
Load-Settlement graph in order to acquire fundamental information for further analysis. Data from
pile load test were utilized to interpret ultimate bearing capacity by using 10 different methods,
which were Terzaghi method, Davisson method, Fuller and Hoy method, Butler and Hoy method,
De Beer method, Modified Mazurkiewicz method, Van der Veen method, Chin method, 80% Brich
Hansen method and 90% Brich Hansen method. The results illustrate that Modified Mazurkiewicz
is the best for the failed piles. In case of unfailed piles, Davisson method and De Beer method are
the most efficient method. The pile capacities predicted by Chin method are between 2 - 8 percent
higher comparing to those from pile load test results and between 2 20 percent lower than the
results from Hileys formula. However, the ultimate bearing capacity of pile computed by Driven
program is between 0.9 1.05 times of that calculated by Hileys formula, and between 0.86 1.10
times of the results obtained from pile load test.
