Searching Periodical Literature
For Module 6 your task is to locate at least 5 scholarly articles to support your final project (annotated bibliography, research paper,
or other project approved by your mentor) by using general and subject research databases. Because this is a research project,
you are strongly encouraged to use several subject databases that track academic literature in your discipline, rather than rely upon
popular periodicals. You may use the research databases from this module or other databases that are most relevant to your
research project. Please note, you may also need to go to an academic library in your area to find the best tools for your subject
area.
While the full-text of some materials is available through these research databases, be prepared to spend some time locating print
journals by visiting nearby libraries, requesting Interlibrary loan or by purchasing them from a document delivery company. If you
need additional help, refer to the following Empire State College Library web page, Finding Articles in Journals.
Print out this assignment and attach it to your five periodical citations/abstracts that you will submit as this assignment.

Be sure to note which search terms you used
Provide the name of the database publisher and file where each item was found.
View the long (detailed) form of the record, where available.
To collect your information, you may print, download to a disk or email them to yourself.
Print out your detailed citations or abstracts and attach them to this sheet in order to submit them as Part 4 of your
Research Portfolio.
